Next we try to tackle the UK news sites problems and then on to some none-UK news sites, which seem to be more civilised!
Although I have tried to keep links from my website browser independent, sometimes important web pages are just so badly designed you do need something special.
If you are using the excellent Opera browser (and possibly some others), the browser will format and display RSS feeds for you without your having to subscribe to them, and the result is quite neat and not obstructed by images, flash or javascript. Opera will format the page only after it is fully loaded so don't panic if you see a bit of XML code first. The following links are to the RSS feeds of some news sites which are otherwise difficult to read:

UK Guardian ||
Manchester Evening News
English bit: If the next two sites fail to display in Opera, move your cursor to the address box and add ?x to the end of the url. Technical bit: The following two RSS feeds MAY use their own transformations from RSS to HTML and should work in any browser that supports XSL (not many) however Opera is not always happy with the double transform and you may occaisionally need to add ?char to the end of the url for these two to get a display, that is rss?char at the end.

The links below are in standard HTML format and should be fine in any browser:

The higher the AER rate the better the deal but check with the savings organisation for the small print. This is Money has interesting financial news but I do not consider their various tables to be the most useful.
